Andrew J. Becke

 

Andrew J. Becke was appointed to the Arizona Court of Appeals on May 15, 2025, by Governor Katie Hobbs. From 2008 until 2025, Judge Becke practiced as a civil litigation attorney in Prescott, first with the Murphy, Schmitt, Hathaway & Wilson firm, then with Becke & Olson, and finally with the Becke Law Firm. While in practice, Judge Becke practiced primarily in the areas of personal injury, probate litigation, real estate litigation, and appeals.

Judge Becke graduated from Northern Arizona University in 1999 and the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, cum laude with pro bono distinction, in 2007. While in law school, he served as the Executive Managing Editor of the Arizona State Law Journal, was a Berch Scholar, and received the Dean’s Award for Outstanding Graduate. Following law school, Judge Becke clerked for Justice Rebecca Berch on the Arizona Supreme Court.

Judge Becke has served on the Arizona Supreme Court Committee on Character and Fitness since 2017. Judge Becke also served on the Arizona Supreme Court Advisory Committee on the Rules of Evidence from 2019 until 2025 and was a public member of the Arizona Board of Osteopathic Examiners in Medicine and Surgery from 2004 until 2007.

Judge Becke has volunteered as a coach for the Prescott High School Mock Trial team since 2014. He continues to serve as a volunteer soccer referee with the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO). He has also served as a Regional Commissioner, Regional Referee Administrator, Referee and Coach Trainer, and Travel Team Coach with AYSO.
